Exempt Organizations include any person or business that is exempt from both the Federal Trade Commission’s (“FTC”) and Federal Communications Commission’s (“FCC”) requirements to access the Registry, but voluntarily chooses to access the information solely for the purpose of preventing telephone calls to telephone numbers in the Registry. If you are not an Exempt Organization and you nevertheless subscribe to the Registry as an Exempt Organization, you may be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties.
Please select the Exempt Organization Definitions that apply to your organization and, after reading the Certification below, certify your organization’s exempt status by clicking on the box next to the Certification Statement at the bottom of the page and then clicking the SUBMIT button. Or, if you have determined that your organization does not qualify for exempt status, click on the CANCEL button and choose a different Organization Function.
You must select a definition and click on the box at the beginning of the Certification Statement to proceed.
Whether your organization is exempt is a decision that requires an understanding of the FTC’s and FCC’s requirements, as well as your specific business practices. Therefore, whether you should subscribe as an Exempt Organization is a decision you must make. In making this decision, you may wish to consult with an attorney.
